When is my card charged?
Today, for everything on your order. Nothing is held. The only later charge is a state fee we confirm first.
What are state fees?
The fee the state charges to file your business. We pass it through at cost. Paying by card adds 3% processing to government fees only. Our service fees have no card fee.
Why is my state fee billed later?
We charge Illinois fees up front. For other states we confirm the exact fee first, then charge it to the card you used today before we file. You'll get a receipt.
What happens after I pay?
We email you the link to your portal. Add the owners or officers there and we file. We check the name is available before anything is submitted.
Can I expedite it?
In Illinois, yes. Expedite asks the state to process your filing faster. Other states file at their normal speed for now.
Do I need a registered agent?
Yes. Every business must name one in the state where it's filed. Premium includes our registered agent for the first year, or you can name your own.
Does the registered agent renew?
Yes. After the first year it renews at $95 a year on your card on file until you cancel. To cancel, contact the front desk before your renewal date.
What cards do you take?
All major US credit and debit cards. Your card goes straight to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see the card number.
Do you keep my card on file?
Yes, securely with Stripe. It's used only for what you agreed to on this page. To change it, contact the front desk.
